At a Devil's Hole, Times have been better. by Louis Sahagun a Times Staff Writer. The pupfish as a rare species is barely hanging on to exsistance and federal biologists are warned about the issue. Numbers for this fish are not high and is very close to facing extinction and are from a remote rock tub in the Mojave Desert since the Ice Age and the chances are slim for it surviving another year.
